About us

Local painters, lake standards.

A Muskoka painting company doing exteriors, interiors, and everything the water throws at them.

Our approach

Muskoka Quality Painters exists to do one thing exceptionally well: paint and protect the places people love up here.

Muskoka is hard on buildings. Sun off the lake fades south walls, spring melt finds every unsealed board, and a cheap paint job shows itself by the second winter. Good painting here starts with respecting that, washing, scraping, sanding, and priming before the colour ever comes out.

That's the company we've run in Muskoka for over 8 years: honest quotes, careful crews, premium product, and a property left cleaner than we found it. Every project, from a bunkie door to a full lakeside exterior, runs through The Quality Coat Method: estimate, prep, paint, walkthrough. We'd rather do fewer jobs properly than many jobs fast.

01

Quality is the name

It's on the truck and over the door, so it has to be in the work. Careful prep, premium product, crisp lines, every job, every coat.

02

Built for Muskoka weather

Lake humidity, UV off the water, freeze-thaw winters. We choose coatings and stains for this climate, not for the brochure.

03

Respect for the property

Gardens covered, docks protected, site tidied every evening. Neighbours should only notice the colour, never the mess.

On site before the drywall.

A lot of our work starts while the building is still going up. On this new build in the trees, the first wing is already in its deep green and the porch timbers carry their stain while the rest of the shell is still in wrap.

Coating new wood at the right moment matters: siding sealed before its first winter, timber stained before the sun greys it, and colours walked and decided on site instead of guessed from a fan deck.

Planked staging set along a dock beside a boathouse on a Muskoka lake, ready for exterior painting

Staged from the dock.

Half of a boathouse faces open water, and it weathers hardest: UV off the lake, spray at the waterline, ice in the spring. We plank staging along the dock and the slip so the lake side gets the same wash, scrape, prime, and two full coats as the shore side, instead of a quick brush from a boat.

Ropes tied off, floats under the platform, drop cloths over the dock boards, and every ladder foot on solid wood. Slow to set up, safe to work from, and the only way the finish lasts where the water meets the wall.
