Cottage & lake house painting
Cottage painting, from the dock up.
Cottages, boathouses, and bunkies across Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, and Lake of Bays, scheduled around your season, detailed for the shoreline.
Painting cottage country is its own trade
A waterfront cottage isn't a suburban house with a nicer view. There's log and cedar that should be stained, not painted. There's a boathouse standing in open water, taking spray at the waterline. There's a two-week window between when the family leaves and Thanksgiving weekend. And sometimes there's no road at all, just a barge or a boat ride from the marina.
We work all of it: classic board-and-batten and clapboard cottages, log and cedar restoration with penetrating breathable stains, boathouses and bunkies matched to the main building, and water-access and island properties coordinated dock-to-dock.
Painted while you're away
Most of our cottage clients are seasonal: home in Toronto or beyond while the work happens. We coordinate access in advance, send photo updates as each elevation and room finishes, and lock up properly when we leave. You arrive for the long weekend and the only sign we were there is the finish.
It's the most requested way we work in Port Carling, Baysville, Rosseau, and Dorset, and it's why exterior projects are often best scheduled mid-week and shoulder-season, when the lake is quiet.

Good to know
Cottage & Lake House Painting questions.
Something we didn't cover? Call (705) 952-0219 , we answer honestly, even when the answer is "you don't need us for that."
Do you paint boathouses over the water?
Yes: boathouses are a specialty. We stage safely from the dock or a barge, protect the waterline, and use finishes that stand up to spray and dock traffic. We match the boathouse to the main cottage so the property reads as one.
Can you get to a water-access or island cottage?
Yes. We regularly coordinate boat or barge access from local marinas, plan materials so nothing gets stranded, and build the access time into the written quote so there are no surprises.
Should a log cottage be painted or stained?
Stained, almost always. Log walls need to breathe, film-forming paint traps moisture and peels. We clean, brighten, and treat log and cedar with penetrating stains that restore colour while letting the wood release moisture.
Can the work happen while we're not at the cottage?
That's how most of our cottage projects run. Access is arranged in advance, you get photo updates as the work progresses, and the place is cleaned and locked before the next weekend you're up.
