Exterior painting
Exterior painting built for Muskoka weather.
Siding, trim, doors, soffit, and fascia: prepped properly and painted with premium exterior systems that stand up to lake humidity, UV, and freeze-thaw winters.
Why exterior paint fails faster in Muskoka
Muskoka is one of the hardest climates in Ontario on exterior paint. Sunlight reflecting off the water gives south- and west-facing walls nearly double the UV exposure, humidity off the lake works into every unsealed joint, and months of freeze-thaw cycling flexes siding until brittle paint cracks and lifts. A paint job that lasts a decade in the city can fail in half that time on the waterfront.
That's why our exterior work starts with the boring part: a full wash to remove mildew and chalk, scraping and sanding back to sound surfaces, spot-priming bare wood, and caulking the joints that let water in. Only then does colour go on, two full coats of a premium exterior system matched to your surface, whether that's wood siding, board and batten, brick, stucco, aluminum, or fibre cement.
What an exterior project includes
Every exterior quote is written and itemized: washing, prep, priming, the exact product and sheen for each surface, and the number of coats. We protect gardens, decks, and stonework, keep the site tidy every evening, and walk every elevation with you before we call it done.
Typical projects include full house and cottage repaints, siding and trim refreshes, doors and shutters, soffit and fascia, foundations and porches, anywhere in Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Port Carling, Bala, and across the Muskoka lakes.

Exterior Painting questions.
Something we didn't cover? Call (705) 952-0219 , we answer honestly, even when the answer is "you don't need us for that."
How long does exterior paint last in Muskoka?
With proper prep and premium product, expect roughly 7–10 years on siding and 4–6 on high-exposure trim and south-facing lakeside walls, the UV bounce off the water ages those elevations fastest. Cheap prep is why some repaints fail in 2–3 years.
When is exterior painting season in Muskoka?
Roughly May through October, when surfaces are dry and overnight temperatures stay above the coating's minimum. The calendar fills quickly, booking in winter or early spring gets first pick of summer dates.
Do you paint wood siding, brick, and aluminum?
Yes: wood siding and board-and-batten are the bulk of our work, and we also coat brick, stucco, aluminum and vinyl siding, and fibre cement, each with the right primer and product for the surface.
How much does exterior painting cost?
It depends on size, height, surface condition, and how much prep the old coating needs, which is why every estimate is free and written after we've actually walked the property. Send photos to muskokaqualitypainters@gmail.com or call (705) 952-0219 to start.
